Information for Artists
Carn to Cove offer two seasons per year - autumn (Oct-Dec) and spring (Feb-June). Each venue is able to book two shows per season. We host two menu parties for each season - for autumn the party is usually in April and for the spring, in September. We work on putting the shows together for the menu in the weeks leading up to the menu party. Carn to Cove shall
- Work in partnership with local Promoters in staging the event, acting as a co-ordinator between the Company and the Promoter.
- Ensure that the venue is aware of the technical requirements, as indicated by the Company, to perform at that venue.
- Publicise the event in appropriate publications.
- Pay the Company the agreed fee by cheque, subject to the submission of an invoice (the fee includes all travel costs) no more than 7 days after the last performance.
In addition the village hall promoter will provide:
- Clear directions and a map sent to the above address at least two weeks before the performance date.
- Parking facilities.
- Light refreshments.
- Secure changing facilities.
- Technical requirements as specified on the Carn to Cove company information sheet.
- A representative of the village hall promoters to meet the artist / company and provide access to the village hall.
The Company shall
- Provide the performance(s)/workshop(s) on the agreed day(s) at the agreed time(s).
- Provide Carn to Cove, without charge, publicity material and to despatch direct to each promoter given above to arrive no later than six weeks prior to the performance. Failure to provide publicity as stated above gives Carn to Cove the right to with-hold 10% of fee.
- Provide Carn to Cove with details of any technical, casual labour for get in or other requirements they have in the show details and at least one month before the above date.
- Take responsibility for any damage caused at the venue and to make good said damage within one month of the performance.
- Ensure maintenance and good condition of all props, set, costume and equipment used and to maintain adequate fire-proofing where legally necessary.
- Provide adequate insurances for performers and artistes.
- Have public liability insurance, and where appropriate, employee liability insurance.
